Special Accommodations
I am committed to helping all students achieve their educational goals and strive to design my courses to be usable for everyone.
If you have a health problem, a learning disability, or a physical need of some kind, first contact the college’s Disabled Students’ Programs and Services directly. They will orient you to the services available to you and help coordinate a successful semester for you.
Then, contact me before the end of the first week of class. We will discuss your situation and collaboratively develop a plan to support your needs.
The First Week
Online classes start the first day of the semester (or when second 8-week courses begin). You will receive an email from me with information about logging in.
Once you login, you will begin with the first module and learn about the course, meet each other, and get prepared for success.
To learn more about what a typical week is like in my online class, visit Course Organization.
Course Organization
What is it like taking an online course from me?
My courses are organized into modules. Full semester courses typically involve one module per week while summer and accelerated courses may involve up to three modules.
Each “work week” begins on Monday and ends on Sunday.
Please note that although the due dates are on Sundays, that does not mean that students are expected to start an activity on Sunday. Some students can avoid working on weekends and complete everything by Friday, but others need the weekends because of other family and work obligations.
