When I first attended college, I was interested in both Art and English–and had a hard time picking my major. I eventually chose English and went on to obtain a B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and an M.A. in English with a concentration in Pedagogy. My first professional job was working as a Technical Writer, and for the next ten years I held various Communications roles for corporations in Documentation, Training, and Marketing. After I became a Mom, I began teaching Technical Communication and English for California community colleges. During all this time, I rarely completed any artwork. But when my children grew older, I decided to pursue my other passions. I went back to school and first pursued Interior Design and then later changed to Graphic Design. Today, I enjoy working with both written and visual communications projects–and encouraging students to pursue all their passions.
